Carly Jo Hougen is an artist Austin, TX. She was raised on a lake in northern Wisconsin with three brothers where she began her infatuation with water; the undeniable beauty and freedom of playing in the lake. Her work has evolved from painting to working with fire amidst resin and woodburning, and now combining the three. Her work resides in international private collections in Ireland, Italy, France, Nicaragua, Mexico and Canada as well as Industry Gallery Denver, and Private Galleries in Yellowstone, MT and New York. She has worked with The Walker Modern Art Museum, Icelantic Skis, Matt Damon, Dierks Bentley, Martie Maguire, WSI Sports, PSIA, L-Bow Mittens, The Yellowstone Club, and the Mall Of America. She plans to build a studio barn and finally settle in Texas as she finds most inspiration there.
